Accommodation
Centrum Savita has thirty single rooms with shower and toilet: €1.375 for 15 days. The entire amount goes to Centrum Savita. Meals are vegetarian and prepared by the chefs of Centrum Savita.
Since July 1, 2025, the Mahasi Sayadaw Foundation has been classified as VAT liable by the Tax Authorities. The above amount is including VAT: from January 1, 2026, this will be 21%, € 238,64.
Waiting list
When a retreat is fully booked, you can be placed on the waiting list for that date. If a place becomes available, this list will be processed in order of registration.
Cancellation policy
Up to one month before the start of the retreat, the accommodation costs paid will be refunded in full. Within one month before the start of the retreat, this is only possible if we are able to find someone from the reserve list to take your place.
Guidance
The guidance provided during this retreat by Sayadaw U Vivekananda and Sayalay Daw Bhaddamanika is a gift from them. Generosity is an essential part of the Vipassana practice.
After the retreat, it is intended that you, as a participant, make a donation (of your own choosing) to the Mahasi Sayadaw Foundation. This donation will be passed on to the teachers.
Because the foundation has PBO status (Public Benefit Organisation, ANBI), it is possible (under certain conditions) to deduct this donation from your taxes.
Since July 1, 2025, the Mahasi Sayadaw Foundation has been classified by the Tax and Customs Administration as subject to VAT. We must therefore assume that donations are subject to the 21% rate.
Practical information
If you are new to the Mahasi method of Vipassana and new to the teachers, then approximately two months before the start of the retreat – or within this period immediately after your registration – you will receive an email from facilitator Guus Went proposing a date for an introductory phone call. Here you have a link to meditation instructions. And on this page you may find some interesting background information about the meditation.
One month before the retreat begins, you will receive an email with practical information: what to bring, what not to bring, arrival time, carpooling options, etc.
It is advisable to plan your time leading up to the retreat so that you can arrive with a calm mind and have one or two quiet days after the retreat.
Feel free to contact us at any time.
