The Mahasi Lineage

The image below is from the website: https://hotriphapbao.com

The website currently includes:
+ Nearly 100 meditation masters within the Mahāsī tradition
+ Approximately 1,000 PDF books, primarily in Burmese, followed by English translations and a small number in Vietnamese
+ Around 100 YouTube channels, with each meditation master having a dedicated channel
+ For each meditation master, corresponding PDF books, videos, audio recordings, and photographs are provided.

Bhikkhu U Sirīdhamma, the developer of the website, was ordained in 2017 at Paṅḍiṭārāma Bago (Forest Monastery). At this time, he is in the process of establishing Asokārāma Meditation Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, taking Paṅḍiṭārāma Bago as its guiding model.

According to American scholar Erik Braun this ‘family tree’ can be even extended in upward direction.

Mingun Jetawun Sayadaw, also known as U Narada (1868 – 1955) was a student of Ledi Sayadaw (1846 – 1923). The rol Ledi Sayadaw took up after the Third English-Burmese War (1885) is quite remarkable. Braun describes this in the article The Insight Revolution in the magazine Lion’s Roar.
